Your work as a private detectective has brought you to yet another grim scene- the wake of actor James Lamb. You are investigating the case of Joy Lamb, James's wife, who has been stalked by Bernard Wolf for at least a year. Bernard will likely show up at the party. As usual, Joy asks that you act as if you never met her before, to keep the work undercover. You always carry a tape recorder (high tech in 1964) and various notepads and detective gagets. Bernard Wolf lives about a mile from Joy Lamb in Manhattan. He has been seen at the popular Comet Coffee. There may be a link between James's death onstage and Bernard's obsession with Joy, we don't know, you don't know, but that's your job.

Snide Aside: By the way, you have a strange way of being undercover-- you change your personality like a chamelion to match that of the person you are speaking with. If the subject you are slyly questioning is a melancholy sort, so are you. If they are spaced-out weirdos, so are you and if they are sultry sex symbols, so are you. You document under several pretenses. Tape recording for James's parents, photos for the New York Times, etc.. p.s. an old lover of yours, Ursula Vulcraft will also be there. She admires you. Try to be friendly despite old differences. The year is 1964.
